  Mikulina luka je mala uvala zapadno cca 2,5 km od Vela luke pa ako volite prirodu i miran odmor, a van naseljenog mjesta, u mirnoj uvali i uz samo more dobrodošli  u  apartmane Vjeka. Obiteljska kuća  nalaze se  svega 30 m od mora i prirodne šljunčane plaže. Kuća je izdvojene od susjeda, a što daje posebnu draž  tihom odmoru u hladovini maslina. Prirodni okoliš je pogodan za šetnju ili trčanje kao  i vožnju biciklom po prirodnim i makadamskim cestama, a posebno za sve vodene sportove. Postoje mogućnosti  iznajmljivanja automobila, čamca, daske SUP,  skutera, bicikle  suncobrana i ležaljki kao i uživanju u autentičnim jelima i pićima po narudžbi u organizaciji domaćina. Postoji i mogućnost YOGA tečajeva ili posebnih sati uz licencitanog učitelja školovanog u Indiji.contact  maja.ticinovic@gmail.com Ako volite istraživati i posebne sportove uključite se u rafting na rijeci Cetina a smještaj je u Kostanjama u blizini starta raftinga.

Vela Luka sa svojih 4500 stanovnika je danas najveće naseljeno mjesto na otoku Korčuli. Grad je smješten na zapadnom dijelu otoka Korčule u dubokom zaljevu orijentiranom zapad- istok. Vela Luka je u isto vrijeme i najstarije i najmlađe mjesto na otoku, naime poznati oblici ljudske civilizacije otkriveni  su u Veloj spilji, a datiraju iz godine 3200 prije Krista.

  Kako Vela Luka kao ribarsko i poljoprivredno mjesto nije svoje stanovnike moglo zaštiti od najezda raznih osvajača i gusara tako da je stanovništvo uglavnom nalazilo utočište u 5 km istočnije udaljenom mjestu Blatu. Danas je to svetište gdje je preneseno tijelo Blažene  Marije  Propetog Isusa Petković . Vela Luka se uglavnom sve do 17. stoljeća naše ere koristila kao luka za trgovinu. Početkom 18.stoljeća broj stanovnika u Veloj Luci se povećava kada se gradi i crkva sv. Josipa zaštitnika grada  1795 godine pa se grad razvija i postaje ono što je danas. Stanovnici se bave raznima djelatnostima pa mjesto ima nekoliko hotela, toplice, manje industrijske pogone, te upravne i javne službe (granični prijelaz, pošta, ambulanta, škola, sportska dvorana ...) U Veloj Luci se nalazi Kulturni centar koji je smješten u starom ljetnikovcu Kaštelu, a baštini vrijednu arheološku zbirku  iz Big Cave)  Vela Spila obližnjeg neolitskog nalazišta te grčkih i rimskih lokaliteta, a tu je i zbirka suvremene umjetnosti domaćih i svjetskih umjetnika.Petra Omčikusa

Ostaci gradina i gomila dokazi su o prisustvu Ilira i kasnijoj grčkoj kolonizaciji (5 s.p.k ), a brojni ostaci govore i o intenzivnom naseljavanju rimskog stanovništva. U srednjem vijeku Vela Luka je postojala samo kao područje na kojem su korčulanski knezovi i plemići gradili svoje kaštele i ljetnikovce pa je u tom razdoblju sagrađena i crkvica sv. Vicenca kao i crkvica sv. Ivana u uvali Gradina.
 

Vela luka je danas privlačno turističko mjesto koje ima svoju mediteransku dušu vrlo gostoljubivih domaćina i prekrasne nedirnute prirode. Ljetne  turističke manifestacije kroz "Luško lito" su svakodnevne i raznovrsne.  Vela Luka se može ponositi svojom  nedirnutom prirodom otocima Ošjakom i Proizdom, ekološkom hranom, bezbrojnim restoranima sa domaćim specijalitetima prelijepim tihim  uvalama, plodnim maslinicima i obrađenim poljima.

 V malebnom prostredí hlbokého zálivu, na západe ostrova Korcula sa nachádza Vela Luka, mesto so 4.500 obyvatežmi, ktoré ponúka priatežskú atmosféru, miernu klímu, priezračné more, čistý vzduch a nedotknutú prírodu. Vela Luka leži v slikovitem globokem zalivu na zahodu otoka Korčule. Mestece s 4500 prebivalci slovi po prijaznosti in gostoljubnosti, dalmatinskih klapah, blagem podnebju, kristalnem morju in čistem zraku.

Vela Luka mit seinen 4500 Einwohnern ist heute der größte besiedelte Ort auf der Insel Korcula. Die Stadt befindet sich im westlichen Teil der Insel Korcula in der Deep Bay Oriented West Ost. Vela Luka ist zur gleichen Zeit der älteste und jüngste Ort der Insel, nämlich die berühmten Formen der menschlichen Zivilisation wurden in der Vela -Höhle aus dem Jahr 3200 v. Chr. Entdeckt.
